MADISON SEMINAR Aug 7th:
The first seminar will take place on Saturday, August 7th at 9:00 AM at the Northbrook Velodrome. It will consist of a 60 minute lecture and a 60 min track side clinic. The topic will be madison exchange technique and madison tactics. We will practice madison exchange technique using both on and off the bike drills and demonstrations.
The classroom portion of the madison clinic will consist of a detailed discussion of madison racing and why learning and competing in madison racing raises your game, regardless of what discipline you are focused on. There will be video analysis of exchange technique, both intra- partner and within the race as a team. We will analyze the complexity of madison racing and break down the components into simple terms, so that you can more effectively compete in this discipline.
The trackside portion of the clinic will involve some simple drills on the bike designed to reinforce the classroom techniques we talk about. Most riders will learn best by both classroom “hearing” and real world “doing” of the changes. This clinic is designed to bring both of these elements together so that you can apply everything you learn in your own madison training and racing effectively.
TRACK ENDURANCE TRAINING SEMINAR Aug 7th:
The second seminar will take place on Saturday August 7th at 1:00 PM and will consist of a power point presentation about Training for Track Endurance Events. I will discuss in detail the demands of track endurance events, including points race, madison, omnium, pursuit and team pursuit, via power analysis and other methods. I will make recommendations for specific training methods to effectively prepare a rider for these events.
The clinic will be conducted on site at the Northbrook Velodrome (in an indoor venue). This will not be a trackside clinic and no riding will take place.
Both clinics will allow time for Q & A sessions and will be conducted in an informal format.
The clinics are spaced so that if riders wish to participate in both, its possible and encouraged. There will be some overlap of material in the two clinics, but it will be kept to a minimum.
The cost will be $30 for each clinic, or $50 for both. You can sign up using Paypal in advance for the clinic using the button below.
Clinic prices at the door will be $35 for each and $60 for both. It is therefore financially advantageous to register in advance.
