For a rider who wants a shoes that offers a very stiff platform and a lot of control of the foot, Bont is an excellent choice.

Features of Bont shoes:

  • construction is fundamentally a carbon “bath tub” design which gives the shoe a high degree of torsional stiffness

  • low heel rise relative to most shoes on the market

  • low toe spring relative to most shoes on the market

  • very structured, non-stretch fabric in the upper of most models

  • heat moldable, but not in a way that makes them completely custom. Some aspects of the shoe will change during heat molding [the vertical “walls” of the carbon sole, the shaping of the upper], while others [the curve of the sole, the toe box width] will not. The upper material will conform to the foot during heat molding, to a certain degree. Some areas of these shoes may require specific modifications for rider comfort.

How it works:

  1. Discuss the shoes you have historically worn and your goals for cycling

  2. Measure your feet

  3. Try on shoes in your size, if I have them in stock. I carry a small stock of Bont shoes in the shop, is not possible for me to carry every size, width, color or last

  4. Discuss upper materials, fit, last size, and other details

  5. Agree on model, width, size, color

  6. Order shoes. Payment is due at the time of the order

  7. Return to the shop one week later to try on the shoes, or 6-8 weeks later for shoes that are semi-custom or ordered to fill factory stock

  8. If the fit does not feel perfect, or for any other reason you prefer to not purchase the shoes, a 100% refund will be made [not including appointment fee for the fitting]

  9. If the shoes are close but we need a different size, I will order these. This does happen occasionally even when we measure feet in person
